Golf Practice Tips to Apply Every Time

Author: Nicolus Cage

Any golf pro will tell you that you should incorporate a regular, but flexible set of golf practice routines into your golf practice sessions.  Here are a few golf practice tips and golf practice advice you can apply every time you hit the range!

Golf Practice Routines Mindset

1. Practice with focus—define exactly what you want to get out of your practice routines before you practice.

2. To lower your golf scores, devote half or more of practice routine time to short game (pitching, bunkers, chipping and putting).

3. Have a different mindset when you play vs. when you practice.  When you practice, focus on golf fundamentals and ingraining the proper golf swing movements in all phases of your game, when you play the game, resist analysis and focus only on the target of your next shot.

Develop Consistent Practice Routines Plan

To develop consistency in your golf swing, you should also be consistent with your golf practice routines and stick to a consistent overall golf practice routine plan with flexibility built into the routine to accommodate problem areas or other targeted areas of your golf game.  Here is a sample golf practice routine:

1. Start with a pre-swing warm up including light stretching and tempo drills.

2. Spend a few minutes to rehearse and instill the key positions of your full golf swing in slow motion from backswing and top of backswing to impact, release and finish positions.  Practice these golf swing positions at various speeds until you have a nice fluid swing that feels natural.

3. Set up an alignment station to ensure your golf shots are on target.

4. Loosen up by performing short pitch golf shots and chip golf shots.

5. Practice your full swing mechanics with select golf practice drills for four shots to help install the fundamentals of the golf swing.

6. Then, for the next four shots, carry out your normal golf swing emphasizing a smooth, fluid motion.

7. Continue alternating between four practice shots (with focus on drills and mechanics) and four shots for the fluid swing.

Proper mindset and consistent golf practice plan will boost your golf skills and help you to become expert golfer in the practice range.

Golf Swing Lessons to Improve your Golf Game

Author: Nicolus Cage

How should beginner golfers choose and participate in golf lessons to develop solid golf fundamentals? This article focuses on how beginner golfers should find and participate in golf lessons including getting ready for golf lessons, choosing the right golf instructor and getting the most out of your golf lessons.

1.First, identify your golf goals. Do you simply want to want to be a "decent" golfer and have fun outdoors? Or do you want to develop a solid golf game and shoot in the 80's on a consistent basis? Do you anticipate playing only a few times per year? Or do you see yourself adopting golf as a lifestyle and playing every weekend?

2.Second, what is your time availability to participate in golf lessons? Can you commit 5 hours per week to your game or only a few hours per month?

3.Third, once you have identified your golf goals, you should find the right golf teaching professional that can help you achieve your goals. A good golf pro should offer golf lessons tailored to your goals considering your time and budget. The internet is a wonderful tool to find a good golf teaching professional. Or you can simply talk to your friends or local golf course and seek their recommendations. When evaluating golf pro teaching professionals, ask them about their teaching style and approach. Start out with a few lessons to gauge the degree of fit between the teaching pro's style and your goals before signing up for a package of golf lessons.

4. Fourth, Once you have found a teaching pro you are comfortable with, become a good student and focus on only one or two areas of development at a time. Between golf lessons, it is critical that you practice those one or two areas, improve them and work on the next stage of development in future golf lessons.

Remember, that golf takes a little time to learn and you need to be patient to develop the fundamentals one step at a time. Over time, the golf lessons you have applied will all work and flow together seamlessly!

Use these lessons in your daily practice routine and then see how soon you can improve your golf swing.

How to choose golf training aids to fit your needs and budget

Author: Nicolus Cage

Golf training aids can help you accelerate your development. To choose the right golf training aids to help you more rapidly address any golf swing issues, you should first speak to your golf teaching pro and receive his or her thoughts on the best golf training aids to fit your needs and budget. There are literally thousands of golf training aids available on the market, so choose a relatively simple, but highly regarded golf training aid that fits your budget. To also help you find the right golf training aids for your budget, here is a quick golf training aid checklist. Working with your golf professional, use this golf training aid checklist to help identify the right golf training aids for your needs.

Golf Training Aid Checklist

1. It is critical to understand your most pressing needs and areas of improvement. Don't try to fix too many issues at the same time, but concentrate on your top issue. Is it your slice, short game or driving accuracy? What issue is causing the most problems with your game and your score?

2. It is also helpful to look at the patterns of your golf swing faults. Do you always have a tendency to hit the golf ball left but cannot figure out why? Perhaps your fundamentals are sound, but your golf grip is too strong.

3. We also recommend you video tape your swing and actually compare it to a "model" golf swing. This will give you great insights into what is causing your golf swing issues.

4. Before purchasing a golf training aid, research "free" ways to address the problem area such as adjusting your grip and/or performing different practice drills with tees and clubs.

5. If you decide that purchasing golf training aids is the answer, do some Internet research and check out the reviews of various golf training aids you are evaluating. Finally, talk to your teaching Pro and see if he or she is familiar with the golf training aid you are considering or would recommend an alternative golf training aid. I hope above mention checklist to select most effective training aids will help you to resolve your golf problems.

Golf Fixes Tips for the Slice, Shank and the Thin Shot

Author: Nicolus Cage

Golfers always experience different type of golf swing fault as they play the game of golf on the golf course. The trick is to quickly identify the problem and fix the swing fault to help save your golf score. We have mention few most occurred golf swing faults and fixes to address them.

Quick Golf Fixes for the Golf Slice

The slice is a shot that starts left, but finishes right of target. Here are a few tips and quick fixes to fix your golf slice.

1. Check your body alignment and ensure it is parallel with your target line. If your body is aligned left of the target, you are likely to slice.
2. Check you swing path by doing a few slow motion golf swings. Does it travel slightly from the inside to the outside in the downswing or from the outside to the inside? If it is the latter, you are swinging "over the top" and increasing your chances of slicing the ball.
3. Check you clubface position at "impact." Is it square, open or closed? It should be square.
4. Finally, check your grip and ensure it is in a "neutral" position (which promotes a square clubface at impact).

Develop Your Skills With These 5 Putting Drills

Author: Jeremy Winters

Putting drills are one of the key aspects of perfecting the game of golf. They are techniques that are employed to maintain accurate and consistent golf scores. To improve putting strokes requires dedicated practice sessions on a regular basis and a certain amount of patience. Some of the popular types of drills that enable a person to develop excellent putting skills include the following ones.

Circle: In this drill, the target needs to be selected on a smooth floor surface or green. Then 8 balls should be placed 1 foot back from the previous one in a circular shape around the target location. It would be best to start practicing by striking the closest ball and then moving in a reverse direction to hit the next one, continuing until you finally hit the one placed at the farthest distance. However it should be ensured that minimal time is spent prior to each putt.

Short putts: This is simple to practice and helps to enhance short putting strokes. In this drill, 5-6 balls need to be lined up about 12 inches apart. The aim is to strike each one directly into the hole, playing one ball after another on a continuous basis for the most effective results. This drill also helps to increase concentration and the determination to perform well when playing the game.

Vertical target: You will need to make three different rectangular shaped cut-outs from a piece of cardboard. One strip needs to be as wide as an original golf hole while the second should be about 2-3 times larger in size. Similarly, the third piece should be around 2-3 times bigger than the second one. The largest strip then needs to be placed against the wall followed by the medium and then smaller piece. On each piece, make target circles along with points 10, 20, 30 to be assigned. This will help a player to get a better idea of the total score that can be earned when striking a putt shot.

In the club: This is one of the most highly favored of the putting drills. In this drill, three different golf clubs need to be placed close to the hole. The focus should be to hit the ball directly to or beyond the hole without moving the clubs. To improve the shots and enjoy the practice session, it would be beneficial to assign negative scores when the ball either touches or moves close to the hole.

Follow through: The ball should be placed about 50 to 60 centimeters distance from the hole in a straight direction. The putter needs to be positioned behind the ball facing the hole to make perfect follow through shots. A positive attitude and good practice of these putting drills will help to enhance putting skills and scores if performed dilligently.

Golf Ball Position Secret

Golf Ball Position
Here are 3 simple golf secrets to having the correct golf ball position every time.

But I'm here to tell you the simple truth that having the correct ball position will lop off at least 6 strokes from EVERY round...

And your golf game will get better almost instantly if you follow these 3 simple steps.

The easiest way to ensure you have the proper golf ball postion is to setup to the ball as shown in the illustration above:

1. Lay a golf club on the ground running parallel to your target line.

2. Take your driver and setup to the golf ball as shown in the illustration, position the ball in your stance to be off your left heel.

3. For every subsequent golf club there on down, position the ball the width of one golf ball in toward the middle of your stance (so the 3 wood would be the width of one golf ball in from the driver - ball position, the 5 wood one ball in from the 3 wood, and so on down right through to your wedges).

If you're having trouble making sure the ball is positioned off your left heel, you can use the shirt logo over your left chest as a visual aid to help you line up correctly over the ball.

Also, having a golf club on the ground parallel to your target line is an excellent golf training aid to ensure proper alignment as you setup over the ball - golf alignment is critical in a sound golf swing.

Chi Kung Golf Swing

Author: coco

In this article I'm going to introduce you to the ancient art of Chi Kung - literally translated as breath or energy work - and how it should help improve your game.
What's this got to do with golf game?
Well, many of you may have read concerning the benefits of controlling your breathing correctly (it receives a fair amount of coverage as a part of the "inner game") but the basic truth is certainly, unless you actually practise the discipline on a regular basis, you may never gain the many benefits it should bring to your golf game and life.
Yet, supposing that you should incorporate it into your weekly schedule, this basic Chi Kung exercise may help you to develop a greater understanding of your state of mind - fear, anticipation, anger, excitement (all happening on a golf game course near you!) - and you'll have the tools to take yourself back to a more relaxed state, very simple by concentrating on your breathing.
Chi Kung - the Practise of Standing Meditation
Stand in a natural posture, your feet shoulder-width, toes pointing outwards just slightly, the knees 'soft', your arms hanging loose at your sides and your head as in case gently suspended from above. Allow your witnesses to gaze gently, a mile into the distance, and relax your chest - however without slouching or allowing your shoulders to roll forward.
Now, place your attention in your lower abdomen, just below the navel, at a point called the 'T'an Tien'. Allow yourself to focus quietly on your breathing, silently repeating "I am breathing in - I am breathing out" while you inhale and exhale.
Gently soften and relax more as you stand with quiet awareness on your breathing and make an attempt to maintain a calm and steady focus on your centre-point.
The challenge is certainly to hold your posture and maintain awareness of your breathing for at least 20 minutes (you then repeat the exercise third times per week). Clients who've made a commitment to this very simple practise have reported many benefits, including feeling more enjoyable, recovering more instantly from poor shots, a better eye for the target, fewer swing thoughts, better powers of visualisation and so on.
Therefore how can you incorporate this technique into your own golf game game in golf clubs store?
Once you would comfortably stand for 20 minutes (and it would well take you some weeks to master this, as at first 5 minutes would seem like a lifetime!), you would start to gain greater awareness of your mind and body and may incorporate the learning into the following swing drill.
Chi Kung Golf swing
Stand at address and focus your mind on your T'an Tien (your body's natural centre of gravity, approx 2" below the navel).
Take a few moments to relax and centre yourself as you breathe. Keep your shoulders down, your chest empty and relax your jaw.
Take a breath while you proceed to the top of your backswing, and then exhale all the way through to your complete. Focus entirely on your breathing and trust your swing with Titleist ap2 irons.
Try this drill 6 times "empty-handed" (i.e. without holding a club) and then check it out with your favourite golf club and/or driver, however without striking a ball.
Note your feedback on a scale of 1-10 (1=poor, 10=excellent).
Score in the following way for each drill:
#1 How focused were you on your own breathing, did you have the ability to empty your brain of all other golf swing thoughts?
#2 How relaxed did you are feeling during your swing?
#3 Did you observe a better feeling of stability throughout your golf swing with k15 driver?
Now step up to the golf ball and hit shots while keeping completely centered on your breathing. Relax and enjoy!
